The court dispute between Jester and the Unified Boxing Association Committee has officially ended in a settlement reached moments before the case moved into full testimony. After meeting with the Digital Athletic Commission, both sides agreed to resolve the matter through one final bout that will serve as a legally binding decision.
Jester will represent the fighters. Maki will represent the Committee. The winner will decide the future financial system of the league.
The filings focused on claims that fighters had not been paid since Fight Night Twenty and that the current percentage based economy limited fair and stable earnings. The settlement now sets two possible outcomes.
If Jester wins: All overdue fighter salaries must be paid. The league must shift from percentage based payouts to fixed set payouts. Main event fighters on numbered cards gain expanded negotiation rights. Co main and main fighters on Fight Night cards receive limited negotiation rights. All amateur fighters earn guaranteed VC for showing up to compete.
If Maki wins: The current percentage based system continues. The Committee keeps full financial control. No new negotiation rights or payout changes will be introduced.
The Digital Athletic Commission has approved the settlement and confirmed that the fight result will be final and cannot be appealed.
The Committee stated that ongoing financial strain and rising production costs have made stability essential. Jester argued that fighters deserve consistent pay and clear transparency regardless of the league’s challenges.
Both sides agreed that resolving this inside the ring is the cleanest path forward.
The upcoming Jester versus Maki bout now carries major consequences. Its outcome will determine how fighters are paid, who can negotiate, and whether the UBA stays under its current model or transitions into a new financial structure.
More updates will follow as the contract signing and weigh in approach.
Interview Segment • Sage (Jester Legal Team Representative)
Reporter: Sage, with the settlement finalized, how is Jester’s camp feeling right now?
Sage: Confident. Focused. Prepared. When the Commission turns a lawsuit into a fight, that usually means someone on the other side is nervous. I’ll let you guess who.
Reporter: There’s a lot of pressure on this bout. Any concerns for Maki?
Sage: Concern? Not exactly. But the ring has a way of revealing the truth. And if certain truths hit harder than expected, well… that would be unfortunate for anyone not ready.
Reporter: Do you believe Jester can win this and change the league’s financial system?
Sage: Absolutely. We asked for fairness. They gave us a fight instead. Jester thrives in fights. If I were in the Committee’s shoes, I’d double check my insurance policy.
Reporter: Final thoughts before the contract signing?
Sage: Simple. When you push a fighter into a corner, eventually they hit back. Hard. Hope the Committee is ready for the consequences they chose.
